> What I Do

Ever since I was a little boy I have been creating art. There is not a time in my life that I cannot remember drawing. As a kid in elementary school I always had requests from my friends and classmates to draw pictures for them. I was always into monsters but loved the challenge to fulfill requests by my friends. My whole life I took every art class I could get my hands on, I remember looking at the clock and waiting for art class to start. During the summers when most kids my age wanted to go out and play, I was always asking my parents if I could take summer school art classes, not because I thought I would ever make a career out of it, but just because I truly enjoyed it. My parents have always been supportive of my artwork and as a kid I had a friend’s dad who was an amazing, widely known professional artist and I remember looking up to him and wanting to be “just like him”. I got into realism because I would draw anything in front of me trying to make it look realistic. Over the years my art evolved throughout middle school and high school and always ended up getting bored in class constantly drawing murals on my arms and legs to come home to my mom yelling at me to stop drawing on myself. It is ironic now thinking back on that knowing that is now what I do for a living. In college I got into airbrushing skateboards, cars, and motorcycles and still took every art class I could get a hold of. In 2011, I became obsessed with progressing with my art and finished my apprenticeship at Lucky 13 Tattoo and piercing. As a very new tattoo artist I strive to always be getting better and better. When I am not tattooing, I am either painting, drawing, or studying art by reading art books or taking classes. I am a firm believer of the thought that you get what you put into something and with hard work you can do anything you want. I never thought I would be a professional artist but am blessed to have a steady stream of clientele who love my work and am honored to have a home at Lucky 13 Tattoo.
